Book: Healing Developmental Trauma by Laurence Heller & Aline LaPierre. This book has extensive lists of symptoms of developmental trauma which are especially helpful since developmental trauma is so deeply embedded in the personality. It also has two session transcripts that show what is possible when touch is included in trauma healing. It helped me have great understanding and compassion for those of us who have developmental trauma.

Book: The Polyvagal Theory: Neurophysiological Foundations of Emotions, Attachment, Communication, and Self-regulation by Stephen Porges. Mainly for neurogeeks. Polyvagal Theory is a game changer in my thinking about the nervous system. No longer do I think of the autonomic nervous system as merely sympathetic and parasympathetic. I think of it as three parts: Ventral Vagal Parasympathetic, Dorsal Vagal Parasympathetic, and Sympathetic. Ventral Vagal development and maturation is key to healing from trauma and creating a balanced and resilient nervous system.
